April 2017

As we summer grows closer and the end of the school year is within site, it is important to remember that this does not mean the end of the Scouting year. It in fact, means just the opposite. Our summer program is packed full of fun activities from Hikes and Campouts to Service projects and days at the ball parks. Most of our boys are involved in a myriad of other summer activities and scheduling conflicts are prevalent. In looking at the attached summer calendar make note of activities that your boy can participate in and those he may have to miss. Mark those on your calendar and come out and have some summer fun. BSA has a National Summertime Award and is earned by participating in at least 1 activity per month for June, July and August. We have planned multiple activities for each of those months in the hopes that every Scout is awarded the opportunity to earn the Summertime Award. Keeping in mind February’s Cubmaster’s minute, the Award is nice, but it’s the experience your Scout gains that will stick with him for life. Whether it’s camping in the outfield of the Wildthings stadium, helping clean up the Heritage trail, or hiking to Wetzell’s cave and learning some history of the area, he’ll remember the experience for years to come. As always, more information on each of these activities can be found on our Facebook page, Website, e-mails, and the Remind app. If there are any questions we are here to help. Contact your Den Leader or myself if you have any questions or suggestions. We are always looking for volunteers to help move Pack 6 forward.

Thank you,

Craig Kerr Cubmaster
